Welcome to Gerry Paradiso's little spot on the web.

Who is Gerry Paradiso?  I'm just an ordinary husband and father to two great kids, living in Baltimore.

But I'm also recently a published author of what I hope will be an inspirational book titled The Job Factor.  (pronouced JOHB, as in the Bible's Job).

Why did I write this book?

Over the last six or seven years, my wife Kathi and I have had some severe financial problems. It has been a cascading sort of thing, for as soon as there was a light of hope, another tidal wave of misfortune hit us.

It got to the point that many of our friends started to compare me to Job. Well, I was not Job! No way! That was an insult I thought. David, maybe, he was a King, but Job, I don’t think so!

Well, one evening about a year and a half ago, I was asleep and I heard a voice inside me say “You are not Job! Everyone is Job! Now go and tell them!”

Having never actually experienced something like this I figured it had finally happened and my mind snapped from the stress of my daily life. But I hadn’t snapped. I realized over the course of a few weeks that perhaps God really was trying to speak to me and hey, maybe I should listen a bit to see what He had to say.

This book is the result.

You see, I’m an ordinary guy - a Gerry average if you will. I did all the right things that society tells you that you’re supposed to do: Go to school, get a good job, work hard, live a clean life and viola, success! Well, that didn’t go exactly to plan. So if it can happen to me, it can happen to anybody. None of us is immune, which is why this story is so relevant.

I hope you enjoy the book.  I wrote it in a conversational tone as I recognize that when you’re feeling down, sometimes you need someone to talk to, but you also want to be alone. With this book, you can do both – you know, be alone and pretend someone is there talking with you – in this case me.

Be Blessed,

Gerry
